Statement of the Maryland Military Coalition (MMC) to the Maryland House Ways and Means Committee on HB 371. This bill phases out, over four taxable years, the limitation on the amount of military retirement income that may be included in a subtraction modification under the Maryland income tax.

As a companion bill the HB 503, this bill will require County School Superintendents to allow a dependent child of a military member, who is relocating to the state on military orders and is not yet residing in that county during the enrollment period, to apply for enrollment in a public school in the same manner and the same time as individuals residing in the county.
